Photo #2 for post #2 is of my favourite Star Trek captain!
It’s Kathryn Janeway, portrayed by the lovely Kate Mulgrew (see the photo in my last post). This is one of my favourite shots of the lovely captain. It’s in the later seasons (around 4 or 5) when she had her hair cut shorter. Captain Janeway went through many hair transitions. Here’s a Youtube video where Kate herself explains it in the first minute:
Anyway, onto my summer thus far. It’s been pretty uneventful & unexciting. I don’t do much besides go on the computer, look for jobs, talk to my best friend (and hang out with her) & be lazy, lol. Coming about a job this summer has been terrible & I’ve yet to have any luck at all. I haven’t given up, but I’m close.
My best friend Gillian & I usually hang out twice a week, sometimes more. On Tuesdays we go out to Chapters or the mall & go shopping. We get coffee, wander, chat & look at books. On Fridays, she comes over to my house & we watch tv or play video games, eat potato chips, drink coffee & crack bad jokes.
I’ve also been swimming a few times this summer which is nice.
We were supposed to have our pool redone earlier this summer, but the guys didn’t show up & we have to wait until the end of August. It’s actually a really long story, but I’m not about to tell it… well maybe I will in later post.
Another post for later, is about our home renovations… or as my dad calls it: “Home Reno – Phase 1″. Phase 1 involves the pool as mentioned above, and our kitchen. The kitchen has been started (part of a wall is gone & the pantry is now in the living room). I’ve seen the plan & the products they’re using & it looks great, I’m excited!
I’ll post pictures when it’s done, with some before & afters.
I’m waiting ever so patiently (or not) for the 2009-2010 Brock schedule to come out so that I can pick classes for registration on July 15th. The date is looming ever closer, so I’m hoping the schedule will be available in the coming week. I’m hoping to do much better in my courses this year than last… my goal is to come out of each class with AT LEAST at 65%. I know it’s possible, just need to try a little harder.
Anyway, I’ll post more later with kitchen & pool renos, my classes (when the schedule is out), movies I see & books I read.
